In a fleeting moment, a timeless image is captured to be cherished for a lifetime. We make time stand still and beautifully portray your Wedding Story.

Over 30,000 weddings take place in Atlanta alone each year. Booking a highly demanded photographer early is crucial, especially during popular weekends. We want to help you understand the advantages we offer over other studios so that you don’t delay contacting us.

The Advantages of Moreland Photography

Overall Difference:
At Moreland Photography, we gather and interpret the story of your wedding. Only a small part of our work occurs on the day we actually photograph the event. After shooting the last photograph, Mike spends many hours behind the scenes viewing, editing and customizing each selected shot. Other photographers charge extra each time they retouch or enhance a photograph. Mike arranges the images so that your album tells your wedding day story. We then deliver a collection of memories, a keepsake to be shared and enjoyed for generations

Many other wedding photographers produce albums that all basically look the same. The faces and the bridesmaids’ dresses vary, but the posed shots are almost identical. The choice is yours: a wedding album with cookie-cutter poses or a collection of images which captures the once-in-a-lifetime moments of your occasion.

Reputation:
Mike Moreland, internationally recognized, has received numerous awards. His professional peers deem him to be “one of the country’s top wedding photographers.”

Well-connected within his profession and his community, Mike is a member of the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, Atlanta Wedding Guild, Roswell Wedding Council, American Society of Media Photographers, Professional Photographers of America, Nikon Professional Services, The Roswell Visitor’s Bureau and The Optimist Club of Roswell.

Television personality and popular designer Beverly Murphy described Mike as the photographer who “gets it all. His artistry and experience are apparent in all he does.”

Mike’s discerning wedding client list includes professional sports personalities, big celebrities, and prominent political figures. We welcome you to contact us for referrals.

Experience:
Mike launched Moreland photography two decades ago after graduating Brooks Photography Institute in Santa Barbara (often cited as the nation’s leading photographic school) and quickly became known as a top photographer.

Internationally recognized for his computer magic, other wedding photographers often accompany Mike to his jobs because they regard him as a pioneer of digital imaging; they want to learn from him. Mike, in fact, began using versatile digital photography for weddings, as opposed to film, a decade ago—long before digital camera equipment became more popular and less costly.

Planning: Mike’s commercial photography background and range of high-caliber clients—from The Coca Cola Company to Visa—not only produces a technical edge over his wedding competition, but his experience in planning big corporate shoots also gives him an advantage when orchestrating your wedding day plans. Every contingency is considered so that your most important event is photographed without a hitch.

We also spend the necessary amount of one-on-one time with you discussing your expectations so that we deliver the style of photographs and the shots you desire. Though we aim to surprise you with better than you anticipated, we will not surprise you with pictures you do not want.

Details:
We spend hours enhancing your photographs after your wedding event. Included in our pricing is the time we take retouching: we remove shine from faces, glare from glasses, flyaway strands of hair, exit signs and other unsightly detractions, blemishes and softening facial lines and other complexion flaws. In addition we add creative enhancements to turn the images into art. Other wedding photographers will often tack on additional costs to retouch and enhance your photos.

Artistry: As an internationally acclaimed photojournalist, Mike Moreland seeks to turn about 25 images from your wedding day into art. Using computer skill and artistry, Mike may create a picture that resembles a watercolor painting. He may add cutting-edge motion. Hand-applying color or adding a sepia wash may produce a timeless or dreamlike image. Other shots can appear more stylish, like a photo which one would expect to see in Vogue.

After taking the time to learn exactly the kinds of images you prefer, Mike will apply the type and the number of creative enhancements you request.

Lighting:
Whether using natural lighting or setting up multiple lights in a ballroom, Mike not only possesses technical knowledge but he also has the artistry to deliver incredibly beautiful images.

Photojournalism:
Other photographers will shoot the same shots at your wedding that they take for every other bride and groom. With an artistic perspective, we, in contrast, employ lighting, multiple cameras, multiple camera angles, computer technology and skill to tell your wedding story in a series of images that uniquely relate to you and your experience.

Equipment: Not only is our equipment top-of-the-line, but we will also bring more than enough backup cameras and accessories to your once-in-a-lifetime event. Quality equipment produces quality results. Additionally, you can rest assured that we leave nothing to chance. Preparing for mishaps assures that you always receive the images you expected and more.

Professional Team: In addition to Mike Moreland’s expertise, we provide a team of professionals who add dimension and quality to our products. Two photojournalist photographers plus an assistant attend every wedding. Using long lenses and available light, we unobtrusively capture incredible images. Sometimes we record the same moment from different angles; at other times the photographers are shooting in separate areas of the room.

Having two people taking pictures at all times allows us to provide more depth. We can, therefore, give you a wonderful mix photojournalism and standard, posed shots.

Quantity & Quality: A photographer may tell you he or she takes plenty of pictures, including candid shots. Yet traditional coverage typically includes 250 wedding pictures with most of the candid shots being taken at the reception.

Moreland Photography professionals, on the other hand, are photojournalists. We can capture the same moment from different perspectives. We can also be positioned to shoot different subjects and happenings at any particular moment.

Clearly, two photographers can also take more pictures than one. For a fact we shoot approximately 1,500-2,000 pictures at most weddings. From that total, our clients generally view between 800-1,000 images. We don’t prescribe to a set formula; instead, the numbers result from our photojournalist style.

The fact that we send teams and not one lone photographer to your wedding ensures quality and quantity.

Print Quality: Photographers typically offer print choices based on what is available from their particular labs. They also fill albums with machine prints, which are nothing more than big proofs.

Every print we make—regardless whether ordered for an album or as a separate print— is custom printed. This means we give the lab exact instructions regarding how to crop each and every image.

When a candid moment occurs, we shoot. Achieving the desired impact of that shot may then call for zooming in on your expression. Or we might darken or lighten the background to highlight a focal point in the foreground. The results are beautiful and timeless.

Consider whether you can live with an album filled with 40-cent proofs and 4-dollar 8x10 prints. Plenty of photographers charge thousands of dollars and pack your album with just that—the least expensive prints available.

Multi-Cultural Experience: Moreland Photography has photographed weddings which follow many cultural and religious traditions. We offer a talent and an appreciation for applying our photojournalistic approach to wedding customs and traditions from all over the world. We take great care when preparing for such unique events. We not only invest the time necessary to make certain we understand your traditions in order to photograph all of the significant moments and key rituals, but we also work to exceed your greatest expectations.

Customer Service: Providing professionalism along with personal, friendly care, we have grown our business through referrals. We have no tolerance for high-pressure sales tactics. Instead, we let our products say everything. If you want our advice, we give it. But we never push you to buy. We respect your budget and your preferences.
